You may find this hard to read until you have been to the area, but, even after forty years, it is still a classic. The writing is wonderful and evocative, and the detail extraordinary. He travelled in 1961 and 1969 and stayed in and around the Serengeti, the Crater Highlands, and the Arusha National Park.
