Before I dyed my hair green at the age of 16 and spent my time rebelling against the newly proposed runway at Frankfurt airport, I desperately wanted to make films about animals in the Serengeti Desert. I dreamt of becoming the successor of Germany's famed zoologist and film-maker, Bernhard Grzimek. Acting entered my life as a more productive outlet for all my idealistic energy and extreme emotions.
. . . .
When I am not filming, I like to travel and to go on adventure tours. While Tanzania, Alaska and Japan are the countries I like most, the Serengeti has become a second home to me. (Why do I always get roles involving snow rather than the African sun?). By the way: When I depart from Frankfurt, my flights ironically always take-off from the runway I rebelled against in my youth...
. . . .
Oh, meanwhile I am in my mid-thirties
